Putnam Sheriffs Deputy Kevin Osika recently observed a driver commit a traffic infraction on Route 6 in Carmel. Osika pulled the vehicle over and discovered that the driver, Jessica Santoro of Shrub Oak was intoxicated, said Capt. William McNamara.

Due to a previous New York State DWI conviction in 2015, Santoro was charged with a felony DWI count, McNamara said.

She was booked at the Sheriff’s Office and arraigned in The Town of Patterson Justice Court. The judge remanded Satoro to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 bail, which was posted later that day to secure her release pending further action in the Town of Carmel Justice Court.
